Small Arms Ammunition Demilitarizing and Recycling

Demilitarizing and recycling small arms ammunition provides a safer and environmentally friendly way to mitigate this hazard.

We have offered for several years a variety of options for the management of excess or unservicable small arms ammunition and energetics.  Initially, we used a bullet popper to demilitarize small arms ammunition (.50 caliber and under) and then we would recycle the metal.  More recently, we have been performing complete recycling where possible.  This includes recovering the components for resale to offset project costs to our clients.

Our small arms demilitarization and recycling services include, but are not limited to the following:

• Inspecting and inventorying small arms ammunition and other items typically in the 1.4 and 1.3 hazard classification.
• Segregating and properly packaging items for transportation.
• Transporting items to either a recycling or disposal facility.
• Overseeing the recycling and disposal operations to insure compliance with accountability, safety and security requirements.
